One of the features built into the site is emergency SMS and email messaging.
Interim CEO Neil Polglase said, “this is an important way we can keep our residents, many who can become isolated quickly, up to date in emergency’s and in real time.”
“Being able to communicate with our communities is vital and this gives us another platform,” he said.
Mr Polglase said he encourages everyone to sign up.
“You will not be bombarded by messages as we will only be using this option to notify community before and during extreme events,” Mr Polglase said.
Council has prepared an easy how to guide for residents to sign up for email and text messaging alerts.
