After a few tough years of drought and then floods with COVID thrown in the middle, the Cunnamulla & District Show is back – and it’s blooming bigger and better than ever. Happening on Saturday 16 August 2025, this year’s event is all about celebrating the region’s resilience, renewal and community spirit. The theme “Full Bloom in the Bush” recognises not just the thriving landscape, but the strength and spirit of the local community. The Show promises a full day of fun, colour and connection – with something for absolutely everyone.

Yowah Opal Festival
17- 19 July 2026
Every year for three days, hundreds of locals and visitors flock to the small outback town of Yowah to celebrate its opal mining history and its unique culture.
The festival celebrates the town’s colourful past with live music, opal and art exhibitions, markets, workshops and more. During the festival, visitors can explore the historic town center and learn about the local lifestyles, shop, relax, fossick for opals and much more. There are also activities such as bushwalking, stargazing, campfire stories and music around the campfire. For those who want to get hands-on experience, there are workshops on gem cutting and jewelry making, as well as demonstrations by master craftsmen.
