Paroo Council commences fencing with QFPI Round 5

Paroo Council and local land managers will be contributing to the network of wild dog fencing throughout the Shire, thanks to funding support from the QLD Feral Pest Initiative Round 5 investment. Council will partner with Incorporated associations (with membership of two or more land managers) to construct 370 km of fencing at strategic locations over the coming years. Coupled with intensive feral pest control, the newly protected areas will support increased production and local employment opportunities.

Since 2015, the State Government has allocated almost $26.11 million through the QFPI to assist regional communities across Queensland to construct cluster fences in key sheep growing areas. QFPI is funded by the Queensland and Australian Government as part of the Queensland Feral Pest Initiative.
